The Hope College Symphony Orchestra will perform with the student winners of the college’s 45th Annual Concerto-Aria Competition on Saturday, Feb. 18, at 7:30 p.m. in the Concert Hall of the Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts.

The public is invited. Admission is free.

Mark Cunningham, piano, will perform “Piano Concerto No. 3 in D minor, op. 30: Mvt. 1, Allegro ma non tanto,” by Sergei Rachmaninoff. Stanna Dorn, piccolo, will perform “Concerto for Piccolo and Chamber Orchestra: Mvt. 2,” by Bruce Broughton. Hilary Hunsberger, soprano saxophone, will perform “Fantasia para saxophone, W490,” by Heitor Villa-Lobos. Sarah Krisch, soprano, and Macauley Wieland, soprano, will perform “Sous le dôme épais,” from “Lakmé,” by Léo Delibes.  Madalyn Navis, violin, will perform “Concerto No. 1 in A minor: Mvt. 3, Passacaglia,” by Dmitri Shostakovich.

The orchestra is directed by Christopher H. Fashun, who is an assistant professor of music and director of orchestras at Hope.

The Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts is located at 221 Columbia Ave., between Ninth and 10th streets.
