Nine Hope College basketball players and both coaches have been invited to participate in the ADDIX Basketball Champions All-Star Games on Wednesday, March 29 at Davenport University in Grand Rapids.
The women’s all-star game tips off at 6 p.m. The men’s all-star game follows at 7:30
p.m.
The Hope women’s basketball team will be represented by its six seniors: guard Angelique
Gaddy of Caledonia, Michigan (Grand Rapids South Christian HS), forward Allison Hedrick
of guard Paris Madison of Naperville, Illinois (Neuqua Valley), guard Paris Madison
of Grand Rapids, Michigan (GR Christian), forward Elizabeth Perkins of Eaton Rapids,
Michigan (Lansing Christian), guard Tyra Smith of Grand Rapids, Michigan (GR Christian),
and forward Mandy Traversa of Winfield, Illinois (Wheaton North). Perkins is injured
and will not play.
Head coach Brian Morehouse will lead the East Team Stripes roster that includes senior
all-stars from the Flying Dutch, Calvin, Kalamazoo and Grand Valley State. They will
face a West Team Stars with players from Cornerstone, Davenport, Siena Heights and
Spring Arbor.
On the men’s side, three all-stars will represent the Flying Dutchmen on the East
Team Stripes: forward Harrison Blackledge of Canton, Ohio (Hoover), guard Chad Carlson
of Rockford, Michigan (Rockford), and forward Cody Stuive of Hudsonville, Michigan
(Hudsonville).
Head coach Greg Mitchell will guide the East Team Stripes with other all-stars from
Alma, Calvin, Ferris State, Grand Valley State, and Kalamazoo. They will West Team
Stars with players from Aquinas, Cornerstone, Davenport, Grace Bible, Indiana Tech
and Lawrence Tech.
Tickets are available at the door. They cost $10 for adults and $5 for children. Families
pay a flat rate of $20. College students with ID get free admission.
