Parents' Weekend Essay Contest

Family Anchors Award

“Other things may change us, but we start and end with family”, Author Anthony Brandt.

The Family Anchors award is given in honor of the outstanding and significant contributions family members make in the lives of Hope students in preparing them for college and supporting them while they are here.  Hope students are invited to submit an essay about a family member who has taught them a significant lesson and apply it to their experience at Hope and in the future.  Essays are judged by a committee of faculty and staff.  The subject of the winning essay receives the Family Anchors Award and the student who wrote the essay wins a prize as well.  The award is given annually at the Parents’ Weekend President’s Breakfast

Congratulations to the 2008 Family Anchor Award recipient, Lisa Paulun. The essay was written by Rebekah Ostosh, Class of 2012.
