Yolanda Vega is the Phelps Scholars Program Director and an Assistant Professor of Education. She is a Hope alumna who earned a degree in Secondary Education and also a Master’s in Education from Grand Valley State University. A common thread through her experiences has been serving students and families. At Hope, she has worked in Admissions, the Office of Multicultural Education, and the TRiO Upward Bound Program, as Resident Director of Scott Hall and as a First Year Seminar instructor. She is married and has one son. |

Michael Brown was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He completed his undergraduate degree in Psychology from Georgia College & State University. Before beginning his current position as the Program Coordinator for the Phelps Scholars Program at Hope College, Michael was the Education Program Coordinator at Community Action House in Holland. |
