MIAA Men's Golf Champions
October 9, 2005
The Flying Dutchmen have won the MIAA championship in men's
golf for the third consecutive year and for the sixth time
in seven years.
Coach Bob Ebels' Dutchmen culminated what is becoming a
come-from-behind trademark to win the league crown by 22
strokes over eight tournaments. Runnerup Tri-State owned
a nine-stroke after six tournaments, but Hope rallied over
the final two outings to claim the 12th league championship
in school history.
The team set MIAA records at two tournaments and their seasonal
average of 296 strokes per round is an alltime conference
mark.

Football Cheerleaders Win Honors
August 24, 2005
The Hope Cheerleaders attended the largest regional college
cheerleading camp in the country sponsored by Universal Cheerleading
Association (UCA). Hundreds of cheerleaders from colleges
and universities all over the Midwest met at Northwestern
University, Evanston, Illinois for four days in August.
In addition to learning new skills and coming together as a squad at
the beginning of the season, the Hope squad competed in three competitions
while at camp in the Small Coed Division which included teams such as
Butler Univ. and Notre Dame. Despite half of the twelve members of Hope’s
squad being new to college cheerleading, Hope earned a first place trophy
in the Cheer competition and second place trophies in the Sideline and
Fight Song competitions, according to coach Wes Wooley.
