Season Headlines
The Flying Dutchmen opened the 2011-12 season by winning the Schupan Memorial Tournament in Midland, Mich. for the fourth consecutive year. The team's third victory of the young season, an 8-0 shutout of McKendree, Ill., was the 250th under coach Chris Van Timmeren.

7. Flying Dutchmen who participated were junior Court
Fall of Royal Oak, Chris Kunnen of DeMoines, Iowa,
Justin Glick of Fort Wayne, Ind., junior Anthony Gasparotto
of Novi, sophomore Caleb Digison of Midland, and senior Dave
Nowicki of Littleton, Colo. Justin Glick scored two goals while Anthony Gasparotto and Chris Kunnen each had an assist. Dave Nowicki had a shutout in the period he played, stopping 17
of 17 shots.
An expanding Michigan Collegiate Hockey Conference (MCHC) will consist of two divisions beginning in 2012-13. Hope's Flying Dutchmen will be in the West division. The West will consist of Adrian (Black), Aquinas, Calvin, Davenport, Grand Valley State, Hope, Lansing Community and Michigan State. The East will consist of Adrian (Gold), Detroit Mercy, Kettering, Lawrence Tech, Michigan-Flint, Northwood, Oakland and Saginaw Valley State.
