301 Victories at the Helm of Flying Dutchmen Hockey
Hope Players Named Hockey Academic All-Americans
A record 15 Hope athletes were named Academic All-Americans by the American Collegiate Hockey Association. The honorees are Eric Cox, Caleb Digison, Andrew Dolehanty, Court Fall, Jesse Gardner, Anthony Gasparotto, Justin Glick, Jake Green, Jamie Haak, Justin Johnston, Chris Kunnen, Steven Skawski, Kaleb Skinner, Eric Webb and Kyle Wollet.

Hope Senior is National Hockey Player of the Year
Hope senior Chris Kunnen of DesMoines, Iowa has been named the Player of the Year by the American Collegiate
Hockey Association (ACHA). He has also been named an ACHA All-American for a third year. Teammate Justin Glick, a junior from Fort Wayne, Ind., has also bee named an ACHA All-American. Kunnen is the second Hope player to receive the national Player of the Year honor joining Jeff Guy who was chosen in 2006-07. The Flying Dutchmen advanced to the semi-finals of this year's ACHA tournament bowing to eventual national champion and MIAA rival Adrian. Kunnen was named to the All-Tournament team. Coach Chris Van Timmeren's Dutchmen ended with a 29-6-1 record.
ACHA National Tournament in Review
Pool Play #1 Hope 10, Neumann, Pa. 2 stats The Flying Dutchmen opened pool play in the national tournament of the American Collegiate Hockey Association in Springfield, Mo. with a 10-2 victory over Neumann, Pa. Eight players got a goal with Chris Kunnen and Jake Green each scoring twice. Goalkeeper Sean LaDouce was credited wth 22 saves. The victory was the 300th under coach Chris Van Timmeren.
Pool Play #2 Hope 6, Northern Arizona 0 stats The Flying Dutchmen won the second of their three pool-play games blanking Northern Arizona University 6-0. The Flying Dutchmen recorded their seventh victory by shutout with goalkeeper Sean LaDouce gaining his fourth of the year by turning away 19 shots. Chris Kunnen scored the hat trick.
Pool Play #3 Hope 3, Central Florida 0 stats Hope defeated Central Florida 3-0 to finish unbeaten in pool play. It was the second consecutive shutout victory for the Flying Dutchmen who advanced to the championship bracket standing 29-5-1 on the season. Three different players scored a goal. Goalkeeper Sean LaDouce gained the shutout with 11 saves.
Semi-Final: Adrian Gold 3, Hope 2 stats The Flying Dutchmen were eliminated from the American Collegiate Hockey Association national D3 tournament in the semi-finals bowing to MIAA rival Adrian 3-2. Sophomore Rob Calvert scored both of Hope's goals. Goalkeeper Sean LaDouce had 30 saves. The Flying Dutchmen finish the season with a 29-6-1 record. The 29 victories is a single season record. During the national tournament, the Flying Dutchmen marked the 300th victory under coach Chris Van Timmeren. Over 13 seasons he has guided Hope to a 302-89-12 mark for a 75% winning percentage.

Hope Players Receive All-Conference Honors
Four Flying Dutchmen received 2012-13 post-season honors from the Michigan
Collegiate Hockey Conference (MCHC). Two divisional teams were selected
and from those a teams a conference Dream Team was named. As a West
Division first team honoree, senior defender Chris Kunnen of Des Moines,
Iowa has been named to the Dream Team and also honored as the Most Valuable
Player in the entire conference. This marks the fourth year that Kunnen
has been a first team honoree. Named to the West Division second team
were senior
forward Jake Green of New Hudson, Mich., sophomore forward Drew O'Brien
of Grand Rapids, and junior defender Caleb Digison of Midland.

For a 12th consecutive year, the Flying Dutchmen received an automatic bid to play in the national
tournament of the American Collegiate Hockey Association
(ACHA). This is Hope's 12th
consecutive yearof making the national tournament.
Won season-opening Schupan Memorial Tournament a fourth consecutive year.
The Flying Dutchmen opened the season with an 11 game winning streak.
Senior forward Jake Green of New Hudson was named the West
Division Player of the Week by the Michigan Collegiate Hockey Conference
(MCHC) for games thru Oct. 20. In two league victories, Green scored three goals and had two assists as the
Flying Dutchmen improved to 5-0 on the season.
Junior forward Justin Glick of Fort Wayne. Ind. was named the West Division Player of the Week by the Michigan Collegiate Hockey Conference (MCHC)
for games thru Jan. 19. In two league victories over Aquinas, Glick had back-to-back hat tricks. He also assisted on a goal.

Three members of the Hope College hockey team wiere selected to participate in the
allstar game of the Michigan Collegiate Hockey Conference (MCHC) on Saturday, Jan. 5,
in Lansing. Representing the Flying Dutchmen were junior goalkeeper Drew
Cook of Columbus, Ohio, junior defender Caleb Digison of Midland, and senior
forward Jake Creen of New Hudson.
