In celebration of an era of a student-focussed presidency, Hope students are expressing their appreciation to Jim and Martie Bultman. President Bultman was invited to keynote the Mortar Board-sponsored "Last Lecture Series" with a final address before concluding his 13-year tenure leading the college. Speaking before several hundred students and members of the community in Dimnent Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, April 17, President Bultman spoke on "Defining Decisions - Learning Lessons - Pleasing Places". Two days later the student organizations of the college paid tribute to President and Mrs. Bultman at DeVos Fieldhouse. The Bultmans were presented a hand-crafted stained glass work of the college seal made by alumnus Dennis DeWitt '63. The Bultmans earlier were the worship leaders at a campus chapel service.
