Holland placed second in the nation for overall well-being
in a 2010 report by Gallup and Healthways. The "Gallup-Healthways
Well Being Index" (WBI) ranked Holland-Grand Haven behind only
Boulder, Colo., out of some 185 cities nationwide. The index was an
average of six categories: life evaluation, emotional health, physical
health, healthy behavior, work environment and basic access to necessities.
HOLLAND AMONG NATION'S "SMARTEST" CITIES, Holland is among the nation's "smartest" cities according to a study by Portfolio.com. The ranking was determined by the "strongest collective brainpower" as indicated by residents' educational attainment. (December, 2010)
