Freshman Lacey Wicksall is MIAA Medalist;
Flying Dutch End Second in Standings

Hope freshman Lacey Wicksall of Traverse City, Mich. has captured medalist honors in MIAA women's golf.

Albion College successfully defending its team championship while Hope, under first-year coach Sam Bedrosian, finished second for the second consecutive year. The Dutch have been first or second every year since 1991.

Wicksall finished the conference tournament schedule averaging 80.7 strokes per round. It is the seventh time in 10 years of MIAA women's golf that a Hope player has been conference medalist.

Junior Emily Thielk of Ann Arbor, Mich. achieved All-MIAA second team recognition by finishing 11th in the final season standings at 91.4 strokes per round.

Freshman Sarah Scholten of Grand Rapids, Mich. ended 16th in the standings (94.1) while sophomore Emily Colenbrander of Holland, Mich. was 17th (94.3) and junior Katie Miller of Novi, Mich. 18th (96.3).
