Hope Basketball Ranks High in Attendance

HOLLAND -- Both Hope College basketball teams ranked among
the nation's NCAA Division III leaders in home game attendance
last year.
Statistics from the NCAA show the Flying Dutchmen were
second in the nation among men's teams in average home attendance
while the Flying Dutch ranked sixth among women's teams.
In men's basketball, Hope trailed only MIAA rival Calvin in
average attendance. The Knights averaged 3,369 fans per home
game while Hope averaged 2,156.
In women's basketball, the nation's leader was Wisconsin-Eau
Claire at 847 fans per home game while Hope averaged 610 fans.
The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) was
among the nation's leading DIII conference in home attendance,
the seven men's teams leading the nation at 1,163 fans per home
game while the eight women's teams ranked sixth with an average
of 288.
