Scott was named a Division III All-American for the second

spring she batted .412 while hitting a school-record 10 homeruns
and collecting 81 total bases. In her career she hit 23 homeruns

Two-sport standout Kim Grotenhuis of Hamilton (Hamilton HS)
ranked 18th in the nation in earned run average. This spring she
allowed just 17 earned runs over 132 innings for an earned run
average of 0.90, a school-record.
Grotenhuis achieved all-conference honors in volleyball and
softball and was voted a Verizon Academic All-American in both
sports. This spring she posted a 12-6 record. Over her career
she was 47-23, had a 1.44 earned run average and struck out a
school-record 396 batters. She pitched three no-hitters, also a Hope record.
The Flying Dutch ranked 19th nationally in homeruns with 15.
Adding to Scott's 10 homers were senior Milly VanderMeulen of
Hamilton (Hamilton) and freshman Kelly Kraft of Brown City
(Brown City HS) with two each and freshman Allison Miller of
Hopkins (Hopkins HS) with one. Hope's 15 homeruns was a single
season record.
Coached by Karla Wolters, the Flying Dutch posted a 21-12
record and finished second in the regular season MIAA standings
with a 12-2 mark.
