Honored for Academic Performance

The 1999/2000 Hope College women's basketball team excelled not only on the court, but in the classroom.
The Flying Dutch have been named to the Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA).
Coach Brian Morehouse's Dutch captured the championship of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) last year and posted a 21-5 overall record.
The team also garnered a 3.366 cumulative academic grade point average to rank 23rd among all NCAA Division III teams.
Whitworth College of Spokane, Wash. topped all Division III teams with a 3.683 cumulative GPA. Two other MIAA colleges, Kalamazoo and Adrian, were among the top 25 teams.
The Flying Dutch also were named to the 1999/2000 MIAA Academic Team Honor Roll.
