HOLLAND -- The 2003/2004 Academic Honor Roll of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) includes 163 student-athletes from Hope College.

The academic awards program is administered by the faculty representatives of the MIAA member colleges.

The 15th annual Academic Honor Roll consists of student-athletes who maintained a minimum 3.5 grade point average for the year.

Among the Hope students named to the Honor Roll are nine seniors who both lettered four years and achieved the academic distinction. They are Lindsay Close of Holland/West Ottawa HS (swimming), Deanna Clouse of Jackson/Northwest HS (tennis), Erik Frost of Midland/Midland HS (tennis), Lauren Hinkle of Indianapolis, Ind./North Central HS (soccer), Haley Martin of Battle Creek/Lakeview HS (swimming), Eric Plewka of Whitehall/Whitehall HS (soccer), Sarah Scholten of Grand Rapids/Grand Rapids Christian (golf), Jeffrey Seymour of Holland/Holland HS (swimming), Michelle Smith of Olympia, Wa./Home School (swimming).

A total of 16 students combined academic excellence while participating in two sports during the school year.
