Admissions [1]

Welcome. Here’s the place to get started exploring what Hope offers you. Here are a few highlights.

Hope is an unusual Christian college. Hope’s mission and vision are shaped by its broad-minded Christian faith and ecumenical ideals. We seek to educate students for lives of leadership and service in a diverse, global society — to be what we often call “World Christians.” Such students bridge boundaries that divide human communities. They seek a spiritual life and ageless wisdom, becoming agents of hope who live faithfully into their vocation.

The College’s national reputation for academic excellence and its vibrant Christian atmosphere attract students who want an education that is life-changing and empowering. Our foundation of faith partners with academic inquiry, affirming that truth, knowledge, reflection and change are at the very core of growth.

  • We’re a friendly and welcoming community of 3,343 students. Very few requirements and lots of invitations.
  • For all its friendliness, Hope is a recognized leader in undergraduate research, scholarship, and preparation. Masterful teachers and talented researchers encounter students in small classes and one-on-one collaboration (13:1 student:faculty ratio).
  • Liberal arts and pre-professional programs with very high academic standards thrive here, offering students exceptional opportunities.
  • Championship athletics: a tradition with scholar-athletes and a community that supports College teams.
  • A beautiful, safe and historic campus located just blocks from the charming downtown area of Holland, Michigan, with outstanding college facilities, and an increasingly culturally diverse community.
  • The fall 2012 incoming class has an average GPA of 3.76. The mid-50% of those who took the ACT scored 23-29; the mid-50% of the SAT was 1050-1320 for critical reading and mathematics.

Students at Hope are unusually happy with their education, and Holland residents have garnered national rankings for being pretty happy themselves. All in all, a place to put on your list, wouldn't you agree?
