Computer Science [1]

You’ll have opportunities to work with faculty members on research in areas such as hand-held computing, bioinformatics, electronic books, artificial intelligence, networking and web technologies.
  • Department faculty members have received research grants from the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Department of Energy, NASA, and the U.S. Air Force.
  • Pursue summer research, senior internships, off-campus employment and part-time, on-campus computing jobs.
  • You’ll have opportunities to pursue off-campus study through the Oak Ridge [2] (Tennessee), Aberdeen [3] (Scotland) and Philadelphia [4] programs.
  • Hope offers excellent facilities and equipment, including a network of PC, Mac, and Linux workstations dedicated to computer science education and research.
  • Classes are taught using an interactive tablet PC environment.
  • A team of three computer science students placed second in the Association of Computing Machinery’s Student Research Competition.
