The NCAA has announced that Hope's DeVos Fieldhouse will be the site of first and second round games on Friday and Saturday (March 2-3).
Friday's first round games will pit UW-Stevens Point
(20-7) against Illinois Wesleyan
(19-7) at 5:30 p.m. followed by Hope (26-1) against Westminster, Mo
(17-10) at 7:30 p.m. The winners will square off Saturday. The public sale of tickets will begin at noon Wednesday at the DeVos Fieldhouse ticket office. The prices will be $8 for reserved, $6 for general admission and $4 for youth/students with an ID. Tickets may be ordered with a credit card by calling 616-395-7860. A ticket Will Call booth will be set up in the lobby of DeVos. Fans will sit in sections designated for the respective schools so when ordering tickets please indicate the team you are rooting for. The doors to the fieldhouse will open one hour before tipoff.
The Flying Dutchmen will be appearing in the NCAA tournament a seventh consecutive year and are hosting in the seven-year-old DeVos Fieldhouse a third time. The last home tournament game, however, was in 2008. Hope is 5-0 in NCAA games on the DeVos floor.
Hope is riding a 22-game winning streak under second-year coach Matt Neil. The Flying Dutchmen went 14-0 in MIAA regular season games and won the conference tournament this past weekend to gain the league's automatic berth in the 62-team NCAA field.
The tournament continues with Sectional play the weekend of March 9-10 and the final four in Salem, Va. on March 16-17.
