Students apply for admission to Hope College using the Common Application . The application fee is $35 for the online version and $50 for the paper version. Students who apply by November 1 receive an admissions decision that is mailed the week of Thanksgiving. Applications received after November 1 are evaluated and decisions are made on a rolling basis. Students must apply by February 15 of their senior year to be considered for merit-based scholarships .
GPA calculation is based on all courses completed for grades 9 through 12. Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), and some Honors or Advanced course grades are weighted an additional 0.6 or 1.0 point (4.0 scale) if not already weighted in high school reported GPA. Financial Aid and Fixed Costs

Financial aid applications should be filed between January 1-March 1 of the student's senior year. 62% of students enrolled at Hope receive need-based financial aid. Costs for the 2014-15 academic year:
The application for admission  serves as the application for merit-based scholarships . Hope's merit awards range from $3,000 to $18,000 per year, renewable for four years. To be considered for merit-based scholarships, students must submit a completed application and all supporting credentials no later than February 15 of their senior year. Hope's Distinguished Artist Awards , our talent-based awards in the fine arts, require an audition or portfolio and are valued at $2,500 per year, renewable for four years.
Housing and Cars
Students who submit their enrollment deposit by May 1 are guaranteed housing. Deposits received after May 1 will reserve a space, if available. First-year students are required to live on campus unless they've been granted commuter status. 80% of full-time students live in college housing. Parking permits are $225 for the academic year and are available to all students.
