Processing Guidelines  
Fall 2012
Deadlines are tight between the Fall and Spring semesters.  Late final grades, incomplete (I) and no report (NR) all impact our students:
  • Decisions are made regarding academic probation, SAP (Financial Aid Probation), or December graduation.
  • Student names are withheld from the Dean's List distributed to Public Relations.
  • Students who have applied to graduate school are waiting for their final grades to be posted on their transcripts. 
Withdrawals Processed
DECEMBER 5 - 10, 2012

"W" grades will show on your grade rosters.

Withdrawals, approved by the instructor and registrar, have been applied to the student's academic record.

Grade Submission & Processing
DECEMBER 18 - 19, 2012

Instructors should enter their grades online through KnowHope Plus.  

Tuesday
- Early grade processing begins.

Wednesday - Final grades due before 4:00PM.

 

Grade changes should be submitted to the Records Manager, Kristen R. Kernstock, kernstock@hope.edu. Forms are also available at the Registrar's Office in DeWitt. 
Academic Probation
Students may be included with "NR",  "I" or missing grades.
DECEMBER 20 & 26, 2012

A complete graded semester is necessary to make an informed decision.  Students who have missing grades, no report "NR" or incomplete "I" could be placed on academic probation. 

Thursday (12/20)
- Registrar completes the academic probation list.


Wednesday (12/26) - Probation letters are mailed to students during the campus shutdown.

Dean's List
Students will be excluded with "NR",  "I" or missing grades.
JANUARY 3 - 4, 2013 
 
Students who have missing grades, no report "NR" or incomplete "I" will be excluded from the Dean's List sent to Public Relations. 

Thursday - Dean's List is finalized then sent to Public Relations.
Friday - Students and their parents receive notification of the significant accomplishment.

Incomplete Grades
JANUARY 25, 2013

Friday - Incomplete grades not resolved from the Fall 2012 semester become a failure "F".

December 2012 Graduates
DECEMBER 14, 2012
JANUARY 3 - 30, 2013

Degrees will be posted for December graduates beginning the first week of January.  Any outstanding incomplete or no report grades will delay the posting of the degree.

Deadline - All grade changes must be sent to kernstock@hope.edu before 5:00PM on Wednesday, January 30th for the student to be considered a December 2012 graduate.

Degree candidates should notify Gloria Shay, shay@hope.edu, to be considered for a future graduation date.
Hope College has three graduation dates in May, July or December.
