"Echoes of a Century"

Commemorating the Centennial of Holland, Michigan
1847-1947

The Joint Archives has transferred from LP to compact disc the broadcast program that was prepared in commemoration of Holland’s centennial in 1947. “Echoes of a Century” was professionally recorded by the Netherlands Information Bureau (NIB) to illustrate the story of Holland, from the origins of the Dutch settlers’ decision to immigrate to the New World to the then present-day. Similar to an old-time radio show, the program, originally presented on seven over-sized double-sided 33 rpm LPs consists of 13 episodes.
Three CD Set - $19.95.

Tulip Time in Holland

This award-winning production explores the Tulip Time Festival, which marked its 75th year in May of 2004, as a celebration of tradition, heritage, culture, history and community. The 26-minute film, available in both VHS video and DVD formats, features interviews with several community members. The program touches on topics ranging from the founding of Holland in the 1840s by Dutch settlers; to traditions associated with Tulip Time; to the way that the community’s growing cultural diversity has shaped the festival and led to new spring events such as Cinco de Mayo and Juneteenth.
Video - $14.95; DVD - $16.95
