Earlier today there was a problem with the campus antivirus server that caused this message to appear. The issue has been resolved. At your earliest convenience, please reboot your computer to ensure that the newest antivirus updates are downloaded.
Please note that the first time you reboot, you may still get the message one last time. This is because the new updates are being installed in the background at that moment, but the Symantec program isn't aware of them yet. It shouldn't appear during subsequent reboots.
If, at any time, you'd like to check to be sure your Symantec Antivirus program is up-to-date, do the following:
- Click on the Start button
- Select Programs or All Programs
- Click Symantec Client Security
- Click Symantec Antivirus
- Under Virus Definition File, look at the date - it should be no more than 8 days old
