An average day...

On the average day at Hope College:

73,883 e-mail messages are received by Hope accounts

62,464 megabytes of data is downloaded from the Internet

31,019 spam messages bound for Hope accounts are stopped

25,767 e-mail messages are sent from Hope accounts

24,576 megabytes of data is sent out over the Internet

2,498 phone calls are placed from campus phones

47 people call the CIT Help Desk

46 work orders are completed by CIT staff

5 personally-owned student computers are repaired

Based on data collected each weekday (Monday - Friday)
from August 26, 2005 thru February 10, 2006

Just for reference, the 62,464 megabytes of data downloaded from the Internet each day is roughly equal to 2.55 million one-page Microsoft Word documents.
