Virus affecting labs and classrooms

Earlier today CIT received several reports of inappropriate images on campus lab and classroom computers. While the cause of this is still being investigated, a fix has been implemented that should prevent the images from reappearing. Currently all of the computers known to have this problem have been repaired. However, should you encounter one that does, the following procedure will fix it:

1. Open KnowHope (Start -> KnowHope). Once the window has fully loaded, close it.
   
2. Open KnowHope again. Once the window has fully loaded, close it.
3. Reboot the computer.

Once rebooted, the normal background image should appear and stay in place. If it does not, please contact the CIT Help Desk (x7670 or cit@hope.edu).
