A couple weeks ago, we mentioned that the amount of e-mail sent to Hope College from the Internet was increasing. You'll recall that we expected about 3.2 million messages to be sent to us from off-campus in October.
The truth is, even that estimate was low. In October,
3,706,047 messages were sent to Hope College e-mail accounts from the Internet. That's up from 2,452,659 messages in September, and 1,804,215 in August. What's more,
79% of those 3.7 million messages were spam (74% in September, 75% in August).
