How to Find an Internship1. Make an Initial AppointmentMake an initial appointment with an Office of Career Services (OCS) staff member by calling x7950. In this first internship meeting with OCS staff you will be able to:
Research internship opportunities through the networking contacts, the local internship listings website or the non-local internship websites linked from our page. Become familiar with OCS Career Library resources, and with other research tools which you will hear about in your initial appointment. OCS interns will check-in with you throughout your search process and will assist you when necessary. 3. Apply Most internship applications involve submitting a resume and cover letter or letter of inquiry as a first step, and at least one interview as a later step. Some also may involve submitting application forms/essay questions, portfolio demonstrations, or writing samples. OCS can help you with each step in your application process; just make an appointment for assistance. 4. Follow-up Follow up with OCS and any networking contacts that may have helped you with your application process. OCS can then thank your employer in advance of your arrival, helping to create a positive intern/employer relationship before you even begin work. |
