  • DeVos Children's Hospital is the only hospital in Western Michigan dedicated to providing comprehensive care to children. It serves as a referral center for newborns, infants, children, and adolescents throughout in 37 counties.

  • DeVos Children's Hospital provides medical care generally not available at community hospitals. It does not compete for patients. DeVos Children's Hospital provides many unduplicated services. It is a special resource for local health care centers and hometown physicians. It receives no direct state aid and depends upon private support to expand health care programs and services.

  • DeVos Children's Hospital has 174 inpatient beds. The average length of stay for patients, excluding newborns is 4.7 days. The average length of stay for neonatal patients is 20.5 days.

  • DeVos Children's Hospital annually has more than 7,000 admissions and over 100,000 outpatient visits annually.

  • The Devos Children's Hospital hematology/oncology program cares for more than 800 patients per month with cancer or blood disorders. Devos Children's has the only pediatric bone marrow transplant program on the western side of the state.

  • DeVos Children's Hospital Neonatal Center is the most advanced Level III comprehensive care facility for newborns in Western Michigan and one of the largest in the nation, caring for more than 1,200 infants each year.

  • Each year more than 250 injured children are cared for by DeVos Children's Hospital's Level 1 Trauma Center where pediatric suregons are available around the clock.

  • Families with loved ones at DeVos Children's Hospital can stay on campus at the Renucci Hospitality House. A night's stay ranges from $20 to nothing, depending on a family's ability to pay.
