This wednesday, October 28th, is going to be a game and movie night. It's gonna be a fun way to talk to other LaRu members and take a break from the stresses of schoolwork. It's in the Martha Miller Cultural Room at 7 PM, just like our regular meetings. See you guys later, and I hope to see you there.
PEACE. 10/7/09Hispanic Heritage Celebration
From September 15 to October 15th is Hispanic Heritage Month. And this year LaRU planned something BIG for it. Also some other important information, La Raza Unida now has its own Facebook page, you should come check us out:
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=188186696223 The celebration is going to be at the Fried-Hemingway auditorium in the Martha Miller Center on Monday, October 12 from 6 to 7:30 PM. Here's the information from the flyer: We invite you to attend our Hope College Hispanic Heritage Celebration “¿Quiénes Somos?– Who Are We?” to be held Monday, October 12, 2009, from 6:00-7:30 pm in the Martha Miller Center Fried Hemenway Auditorium. This event, with a focus on Hispanic diversity, is sponsored by student organization La Raza Unida (LaRU) and the History Department. The program will encourage participants to embrace national and local Latino culture. We welcome you to come and celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with us! 9/16/09LaRu Picnic
This is an update for all of those who would like to go to the picnic this Saturday, there is still time to RSVP. Just send an email to laru@hope.edu and let us know. It's by the football field at Smallenburg Park from 2 to 5. It's going to be a good time with some good food and some good people. So if you haven't signed up yet, the sooner you do the better. It's gonna rock, so bring your friends along too.

A note about the meetings, the ones that say E-Board meetings are meant for the Executive Board of LaRU, and the general meetings are the ones that most go to.
