Apply for the Dream Team! This year, 20 students will comprise the executive committee responsible for planning and increasing awareness about Dance Marathon at Hope. These are the people who make it all happen. A year-long commitment, Dream Team is not for the faint of heart! DT members spend the year organizing fundraisers, recruiting dancers and moralers, coordinating events with the Miracle Families and, of course, attending to every last detail of the marathon itself. Preferred candidates for the Dream Team have prior experience with the event, either serving on one of the planning committees or participating as a dancer or moraler (see below). Applications for Dream Team are made available annually following the marathon in March. If you’re interested or have questions, please email dancemarathon@hope.edu. |
Join a CommitteeNearly every member of the Dream Team works closely with a planning committee to make sure the marathon goes off without a hitch. This is a great way to get a behind-the-scenes perspective of Dance Marathon. It also allows you to gain practical experience in a variety of areas including: Finance & Marketing, Family Relations and Hospital Relations, Dancer Relations and Moraler Relations, Event Management, Entertainment, Catering, Campus Relations, Special Promotions, Publicity and Security. Click here for complete descriptions of each committee or email dancemarathon@hope.edu and sign up for a committee today! |
Be a DancerThe marathon would not be possible without the hundreds of students who come out to dance each year. Dancers are on their feet for the entire 24-hour marathon in a gesture of solidarity with the children and families they support. You can dance on behalf of a student organization, fraternity or sorority. Or, you may sign up as an individual dancer and we will do our best to match you with other enthusiastic participants! In addition to their presence at the event, dancers are encouraged to raise money throughout the year “for the kids.” Register online today to be a dancer! |
Be a MoralerWhat fun would the marathon be without the support and enthusiasm of moralers? These cheerleaders keep the dancers excited and entertained from start to finish. Moralers are assigned 8-hour shifts during the marathon, during which time they are charged with the crucial task of boosting dancer morale and keeping energy high. In addition to their presence at the event, moralers are encouraged to raise money throughout the year “for the kids.” Register online today to be a moraler! |
Be a DGRDesignated Group Representatives (DGRs) help spread the love and enthusiasm of Dance Marathon on Hope’s campus all year round! These individuals meet regularly with members of Dream Team to get updates about the Miracle Families, upcoming events, fundraising opportunities and more. DGRs are asked to relay all information to their participating student organization and encourage members to get involved in Dance Marathon efforts throughout the year. Closer to the event, DGRs also play a vital role in communicating all logistical details to their group members regarding dancer/moraler registration, the marathon schedule, etc. If you plan to represent your student organization as a DGR, please sign up today by emailing dancemarathon@hope.edu. |
