About Us

Mission Statement
The goal of Hope College Sailing is to provide a fun environment for sailors of all skill levels to learn the basics of sailing and small boat racing.

New Sailors
Welcome New Sailors!

  • We welcome anyone who has an interest in sailing no matter how much experience they have.
  • Clothing-Dress for the weather: Swim suit if it is warm enough and if it is chilly then bring layers, preferably nylon or other water resistant materials
  • If you have a life jacket then bring it; if not we will provide one for you
  • The club usually consists of day sailing Monday through Thursday at Macatawa Bay Yacht Club starting sometime between 3:00-4:00 pm, depending on weather conditions.
  • We also attend competitive Regattas located throughout the Midwest during the weekends.
  • Our fall season begins in September and ends in mid November, and our spring season begins in late March and ends in May, weather permitting.
  • Participation in regattas is not required.
