About Us

The Women's Issues Organization of Hope College, also known as WIO, seeks to increase campus awareness of women's issues by highlighting the accomplishments and contributions of women locally as well as globally, and exposing the different challenges all women face in their daily lives. WIO strives to help students question the social, political, and economic structures in societies and cultures that inhibit women. WIO is dedicated to educating the college community by means of literary material, campus lectures, and other special events. WIO endeavors to help the Hope College community become aware of the difficulties women face in local and global communities, and to help work towards a world in which all people are treated equally.
