Poverty and Medicine Group
This is a subgroup of AED, designed to welcome all students interested
in learning about how medicine and poverty are connected. We focus on
missions, both domestic and foreign. We will hold several meetings throughout
the year.
Calendar
October 2012
- 25th - This meeting will consist of an Allied Health panel featuring
a Physician's Assistant, an Occupational Therapist, and a Nurse practitioner.
The meeting will take place in the Martha Miller Center, room 159, and
will run from 5:30pm-7:00pm.
November 2012
28th - We
will be hosting Dr. Christensen, who will discuss healthcare from
local and international perspectives, as well as his own background in
the health profession. Th meeting will take
place in the Science Center, room 1019, at 8:00 pm.
February 2013
13th - Dr. Christensen, D.O., will be joining us to talk about the
medical school experience. He will be answering questions about the
residency process and fellowship process after medical school as well.
