Poverty and Medicine Group

This is a subgroup of AED, designed to welcome all students interested in learning about how medicine and poverty are connected. We focus on missions, both domestic and foreign. We will hold several meetings throughout the year.

September 2011

• 27th - First Meeting! Food will be present! - 8 p.m. - Sci Ctr 1000

October 2011

• 12th - New Opportunities to Serve in Zambia - 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. (Location to be announced)
• 17th - Our meeting this week will be led by Poverty and Medicine. They will be addressing what is outside of the "Hope Bubble." Featured speakers at the meeting will share experiences and offer insight. All are invited!

November 2011

• 22nd - This meeting will focus on the country of Zambia. Sam Tzou, Allie Hylen, Monica Wittig, and Laura Marcus will present possible research/mission opportunities and information.
  Anyone interested in traveling abroad this summer or learning more about health cause-and-effects and leadership/empowerment opportunities should attend.
