The Flying Dutch are champions of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) for the second consecutive year and headed to the NCAA Division III playoffs.

On Saturday the Flying Dutch came from behind to defeat Alma 3-1 to clinch the conference championship. Hope ends conference play with a 13-1-2 record to finish one point ahead of Calvin in the final standings. Hope's mark gives the Flying Dutch 41 points while Calvin's 13-2-1 record puts the Knights at 40.

Coach Leigh Sears' Dutch gain the MIAA's automatic berth in the NCAA playoffs which begin next week. Pairings and game locations will be announced late Sunday.

Alma struck first on a goal by Rachel Comfort in the game's 16th minute. It looked like that lead would hold through the first half, but Hope struck lightning-quick with two goals in the final minute before intermission, Lauren Stieper with 26 seconds remaining and Kayla Fryczynski with just one tick on the clock.

Sarah Cochrane added an insurance goal in the game's 68th minute as the Flying Dutch finished with a 12-3 advantage in shots on goal.

Goalkeeper Lauren Peters had one save.
