A pair of second half goals and another outstanding defensive effort propelled the Flying Dutch to a 2-0 victory over host Saint Mary's on Saturday. Coach Leigh Sears' Dutch improve to 8-1 in the MIAA and with their eighth shutout win of the season stand 10-2 overall. It marked the second time this season that the Dutch defeated the Belles 2-0.

The teams battled through a scoreless first half and well past the midway point of the second half before senior Negeen Masghati scored in the 72nd minute, assisted by Erin Dargis. Sophomore Ellie Tresslar provided a cushion when she scored in the 83rd minute unassisted. Neither team was able to generate much of an offensive threat as Hope held an 8-4 edge in shots on goal. Hope opponents this season are averaging less than eight shots-on-goal per game and have just five goals in 12 games.

Goalkeeper Holly Nestle made credited with four saves in gaining her 28th career shutout.
