Located at 140 E. 12th Street, Kollen Hall is named in honor of Hope's second President, Dr. G.J. Kollen. It was built in 1956 and was renovated during the summer of 1994. Formerly an all male dormitory, Kollen is now a co-ed residence hall.
Kollen Hall has 144 rooms, housing 292 freshman and sophomore students. All floors of Kollen Hall East are male. First floor of Kollen Hall West is male, and the second and third floors of Kollen Hall West are female.
The carpeted rooms come with 80"-long twin beds that can be bunked or used as separate beds. Rooms are furnished with two dressers, two desks with chairs, and two closets. There are blinds on the windows. Also, ethernet connection is available in each room. A computer lab, laundry room, and lounges are also found in Kollen.
The television lounge, kitchen facilities, and study room are located on the first floor along with vending machines. The computer lab, laundry facility, and recreational equipment along with meeting rooms for several campus organizations are located in the basement.
