Our Mission:

To provide a means of cultivating volunteerism in the Hope College Community through group and individual volunteer work. Through this work it is our hope that we can instill a life-long dedication to service and volunteerism.

Why Volunteer?

"That which you have done for the least of My brothers you have done for Me. --"Matthew 25:40

Inspire others

"Everybody can be great because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace, a soul generated by love."

--Martin Luther King Jr.

Advance a worthy cause

"Do not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is in your power to act."

--Proverbs 3:27

Solve problems

"Though government has an important role to play in meeting the many challenges that remain before us, we are coming to understand that no organization, including government, will fully succeed without the active participation of each of us. Volunteers are vital to enabling this country to live up to the true promise of its heritage."

--Bill Clinton

Self development

"Volunteers are the only human beings on the face of the earth who reflect this nation's compassion, unselfish caring, patience, and just plain love for one another."

--Erma Bombeck

Appreciation of your time, talents

"I was taught that the world had a lot of problems; that I could struggle and change them; that intellectual and material gifts brought the privilege and responsibility of sharing with others less fortunate; and that service is the rent each of us pays for living -- the very purpose of life and not something you do in your spare time or after you have reached your personal goals."

--Marian Wright Edelman

Contribute to the community

"One of the most special feelings is knowing I directly contribute towards the number of people smiling in my community and that makes me smile."

-- Jessica Bavinton, Physiotherapist

"Leave the world a better place than it was when you arrived in it."
