The "how to" of Volunteer Services

We'd love to have you get involved with Volunteer Services! Here are several ways you can volunteer:

Monthly Service Projects: Every month a group will go to a new location. Everyone is welcome, either individually or in a group! Updates for this will be on the homepage, but make sure to check out the Special Events section as well.

One-time commitments: There are a number of events within the community that need extra help! Volunteer Services is also sponsoring a number of events this year that are listed on the Volunteer Services homepage. These events and others are also listed under Special Events.

Regular Volunteering: You may want to work consistently with a certain organization and develop a stronger long-term connection. A number of these organizations are already listed under Ongoing Opportunities within this site.

Be a part of the Volunteer Services Committee: Do you like planning volunteer projects? Do you like volunteering around the community and at Hope College? If so, think about joining the Volunteer Services Committee Spring or Fall 2009. Being on the committee includes the following commitments:

-Being at an hour weekly meeting
-Helping out at and planning the monthly events that Volunteer Services holds
-Participating in volunteer opportunities
-Attending a team building retreat during the school year
-Setting a good example and recruiting new volunteers to participate in the events that are held

Please send us an email at volunteers@hope.edu with what type of volunteering you're interested in (monthly, weekly, group projects, working with kids, etc.), and we'll get back to you with more information or contact you to arrange a meeting. You can also simply ask to be added to our emailing list to be updated with current volunteer opportunites.

Please don't ever let transportation be a hindrance - we would be happy to help provide and arrange that for you!
