Andy Mozina won the 2008 GLCA New Writers Award for his collection of stories, The Women Were Leaving the Men, published by Wayne State University Press as part of their Made in Michigan series. Novelist Laura Kasischke calls the collection “both humorous and haunting” and notes that “Mozina posseses both an ironic sensibility and a real compassion for characters in their human conditions." Currently Andy Mozina lives in Kalamazoo, Michigan, with his wife and daughter. He chairs the English department at Kalamazoo College.
