Karis Granberg-Michaelson still believes beauty
can save the world. She is a senior majoring in English with Creative Writing
Emphasis. Her interests include the flowering of human consciousness, Rumi,
ecstatic dance, hilarity, and incense. She enjoys symphonic excursions
and dreaming of rockstardom while playing guitar. Her future may find her
pursuing an MFA and joining a radical mountain community in southern Oregon. |
 |
Elizabeth Orlando is a junior English and Communications
double major. She enjoys reading, mainly classic literature, writing, coffee,
snow and shoe shopping. She isn't quite sure what life after Hope will
consist of but is hoping (no pun intend) that she'll figure it out within
the next two years. |

Matt Oosterhouse is a senior and an English
creative writing major who is en route to writing poetry for a living and
attending Calvin Seminary after graduation. He hails from Holland, MI.
Ja, he is a Hollander and loves it. He currently resides and works in Kollen
Hall as the Student Assistant Resident Director, and spends a good portion
of his spare time as the copy editor for the Anchor, Hope's weekly newspaper.
When Matt is not working, studying, or spending time with his friends,
you can find him outdoors most likely walking around enjoying nature. More
often than not, you'll find him enjoying a bit of cloud watching (the puffy
cumulous clouds are the best shape makers). His favorite literature is
poetry, which he writes often. |

Karly Fogelsonger is a junior, majoring in
English and International Studies and minoring in Music. Favorite things
include rain, grilled cheese sandwiches, E.E. Cummings, sprinkles, Star
Wars movies (the old ones), the word ‘saucy’, Theodore Roethke,
and sneakers. She is a vegetarian, except for hotdogs and Taco Bell, and
is incapable of parking properly.

Taylor Hughes is a senior from Montague, MI
majoring in Communications and Spanish. She aspires to be an expatriate
in Beijing while gaining experience in the arts and design industry. In
the long run, she hopes to sit on her porch with a dog named Atticus. An
avid foodie, she loves authentic Mexican food but enjoys nothing more than
the cold northern woods of Michigan. Her lifelong passion for roasted rabbit
came to a recent and sudden end after viewing Bambi. |

|
Rachel Whitney is a junior pursuing an English
major with a Creative Writing emphasis and a Dance minor. She has no idea
if or how these two passions will come together after stepping away from
the Hope College community, but right now her focus is on enjoying life.
This mission includes surrounding herself with excellent literature, interesting
people, pleasurable writing, astounding tap dance rhythms, and (lest we
forget) plenty of chocolate.
