The Adjustable Wakeboard Binding

Jonathan Vander Velde
The new improved adjustable wakeboard binding is a design that has solved the problem of adjusting wakeboard bindings. Ever since the sport of wakeboarding surfaced, the adjustment of the wakeboard binding to the desired size of the rider has been a tedious and time-consuming task. The clamp design offers a wakeboard binding which can be adjusted in a matter of minutes through the completion of three easy steps. The clamping design mounts on any existing wakeboard binding and makes the adjustment of the binding quick and easy. The clamping design also has been proven to have better performance than the standard model. In a test of the ultimate strength of these two models, the clamp design held a load over 40% larger than the load that the standard binding could support. The clamp design is simply two pieces of aluminum that clamp together by tightening two screws on either ends of the device. The aluminum pieces are designed to have an inserting step, which when place together form a rectangular piece. The two pieces are the reverse of each other and fit together so that the rubber overlay of the binding is gripped in between the two. The friction caused by this the step on this clamp design offers the force needed to hold the overlay in place. By loosening the screws on either side, the overlay can be fed through the clamp and adjusted effortlessly in a matter of minutes. This design is a definite improvement to the wakeboard binding and solves the problem of binding adjustment.
